This facility is located in the British Virgin Islands on the island of Jost Van Dyke.
This seawater reverse osmosis plant has a production capacity of 21,000 US gallons per day. To reduce the overall installation period and capital costs, this facility is housed within a modified shipping container.
Water from this facility is sold to the Water and Sewerage Department for the public water supply on the island and is the first desalination plant to be installed on the island specifically for this purpose.
As the island’s water distribution system expands and the population and tourist accommodations increase, the Company is poised to expand and increase its desalination capacity of the facility, ensuring that a supply of high quality drinking water does not limit the growth of the island.
Seawater for the facility is obtained from an open sea intake and the plant utilizes highly efficient pressure exchanger technology to recover energy from the brine stream.
